Why Bad Days?

The past few days have left me feeling negative. I feel overwhelmed, betrayed, and bitter. I try to be positive, but I just am in a poopy mood. Today on my hike up Logan Canyon, I realized I have nothing to be bitter about. I have so much to be thankful for;
  • I have my health
  • I have a loving husband
  • I have a roof over my head
  • I have food on the table
  • I have clean water
  • I have a great family
  • I have four crazy nephews and one niece who love me
  • I have a job that changes the world
I have nothing to complain about. So, why am I complaining? I let things get to me, which causes me to believe I have a hard life. I allow people to let me feel betrayed. I allow these feelings. This frustrates me more than anything. I have allowed these people to put me in a poopy mood. I have been praying a lot about strength and courage. I need all the help I can get to not let people get to me.

I have put a hold on my 7 Habits book until Sunday. It is hard to follow when you start it in the middle of the week. I am still practicing being proactive, putting first-things-first, and all that, but I will wait to post about it after Sunday.

Pictures!!!

Wednesday:

I unpacked a few boxes and found these awesome scarves. I didn't realize I had this many!

Thursday:
This is my baby! I have had it for 3 years now. My amazing husband bought it for me while we were engaged. People make fun of the size, but I still get he motorcycle wave from bikers. It makes me feel so cool to have them do the wave.

Friday:
I found an Amazon gift card I didn't know I had. I bought this bad boy with part of it. I hope all the pieces are here. If I am missing any I'm going to have a BF.

Pictures!!

Sunday:
Coll and I went camping. It was really pretty! We really needed to take time and enjoy each other. It was a great camping trip.

Monday:
I tried to make french toast in the dutch oven. It didn't really turn out. At least my dutch oven looked great!

Tuesday:

I made homemade banana bread today. It is a healthier version. It uses honey, bananas, wheat flour, eggs, and apple sauce. I was really worried it would taste weird but it tasted great! Coll didn't even notice the difference. I will for sure be making this again!

Day 5,6, & 7

Day 5: Make a Deposit in Someone's bank. I made a deposit in Coll's bank by taking a relaxing camping trip with him. He really needed to get away from everything. We went up Hyrum Canyon. It is fun.

Day 6: Do I value others? I do value people. I think learning about different beliefs is very interesting. I do struggle with politics and religion. I don't like it when people force their beliefs on me. I respect different opinions, but when someone tries to tell me their opinion is fact I don't value it. I can work on being more accepting of politics.

Day 7: Make up day/day off. I took today to make another deposit in Coll's account. I surprised him with homemade banana bread, enchiladas, and peach tea. He appreciated that I had it ready for him when he got home. I also took time today to walk to the cute little market down the street. It just made me happy to be outside.

Goal update: Ran two miles today! Sunday and Monday weren't as productive, but I did great today!

Pictures

I am wanting to capture a picture each day of something that makes me happy. I started this in January, but didn't keep up with it. I am going to capture the year 24 by taking 360 pictures!

I turned 24 this week. It freaks me out that I will be 25 next year. I can't believe how fast time has flown by! Coll bought this adorable cake and insisted that I put candles on it.

Here is my little bunny Belle. I was wondering why Coll picked this one out, but I know why. She is stubborn, thinks she's the boss, and is a picky eater. She is me in bunny form!

Here is my plant. I have kept this sucker alive for a whole year! I am very proud of myself for it to be alive. I don't really have a green thumb, which makes this a BIG deal!

Days 2, 3, & 4

Day 2: Refining my Mission Statement!

I have taken a lot of thought to come up with my mission statement. I know I want to be mentally and physically healthy. I also want to have positive, healthy relationships with those I love. I want to find joy in the small things. I have all these things I want out of life, but find it hard to achieve them. I am working on making sure my life mission statement reflects what is important.

Day 3: Setting a Goal that can be achieved in 7 weeks.

My goal: Run 5 miles straight. This will help me achieve physical health. It will also help me achieve mental health. 5 miles here I come!! My plan: Run 2 miles for a week, then bump it up to 3 and so on. Hopefully I will achieve this goal!

Day 4: Scheduling time for my goal!

I ran 1 mile today. It wasn't 2, but it is a start! I will run every morning to reach my goal.

A New Journey

It's been a long time since I've posted, but this summer will be different! I am going to be posting about my journey to becoming a highly effective person, through the 7 habits! I will explain more as I go. The first habit is being Proactive! I feel being proactive is looking at the positives and keeping your cool in hard situations. It is knowing that you have control of your thoughts, actions, and responses. I want to be proactive and not reactive. This will be hard, but I am determined to be better! I want to take this journey to be a better wife, teacher, sister, daughter, and just a better person all around.

Day one of my Journey (Today!)

I woke up sick last night. I had a fever and threw up. I hate throwing up! I am a baby when it comes to that. As I was throwing up over the toilet, Coll came in and helped hold my hair. He also went and got me water and helped me get comfortable on the couch. I felt really bad because I was keeping him up, but he was so sweet to help me.

When I first woke up I was so mad! I realized I was being reactive instead of proactive. I find it hard to be proactive when I'm sick, but I know I can! How I am going to be proactive today:

  • Watch classic Disney movies to lighten the mood
  • Work on anything I can on my computer (lesson plans! This will help me get ahead in the long run, which is another habit, Keeping the End in Mind)
  • Be thankful I am not teaching because substitute plans are  pain in the butt!! At least I get to just lay here and not stress about what my students will be doing today.
  • I will thank Coll for everything and tell him how much I love him! He is bringing me back a drink and some crackers. I'm glad I have someone who will take care of me!
There are ways to be proactive while sick! I don't think I will be able to be so proactive if I'm sick tomorrow. Being sick on your day of birth is no fun in my book!

More to come on my journey to being the best I can be!

Worth it Wednesdays

I am struggling with a lot of stuff lately. I am being very critical of myself, which isn’t having a positive influence on my life. What is the point of all this crap? I have decided to answer this question by posting what makes life worth it for me. I am doing this to reflect on the positive in my life. So here it goes….

This guy makes life worth it. He sometimes drives me crazy, but in the end I love him.
